The New Beginnings Transitional Housing Program

Lack of safe and affordable, permanent housing is one of the biggest barriers to leaving an abusive relationship. In 2020, for the first time we launched the New Beginnings Transitional Housing Project. Through this project, we offer short-term rental assistance to survivors of domestic violence fleeing abusive homes. Since 2020, we have supported women in moving out of shelter and into their own apartments for the first time. Our goal is to support women in securing safe housing, educate them on their rights as tenants, assist them in enrolling in job training programs, and guide them in financial planning to promote independence and self-sufficiency. To inquire about the transitional housing services, please call our helpline at 718-550-3586 or our office at 718-262-8722.
